Oats Pongal

Ingredients
Oats-3/4 cup
Moongdal-1/2 cup
Cashew-6 to 7
Green chilli-1
Curry leaves-few
Crushed ginger -few
mustard-1 tsp
Cumin(Jeera)-1tsp
Pepper-1tsp
Ghee/oil-2 tbsp

Method:
- In a kadai add 3 and 1/2 cup of water and let it boil.Mean while add dal in cooker and pressure cook it
- Chop cashew ,green chilli and ginger.
- Add oats to the boiling water and stir till it cooked.Now add Pressure cooked moong dal and mix well
- When you get the right consistency switch off the flame.
- In a pan add ghee then mustard ,once it splutters add cumin and pepper ,then add ginger and green chilli
- Once the ginger is fried well in oil ,add cashews till it is golden brown ,then switch off flame and add curry leaves.
- Add this to the moong dal & oats mixture and mix well.
Notes:
- Make sure to serve when it is hot
- Serve hot with sambar or chutney.
