Onion Paratha

Onion Paratha | Pyaaz Ka Paratha | Stuffed Onion Paratha requires oly onion and some spice powder to make ,which is a common available ingredient in kitchen.you don't need to cook the stuffing separately,so its a perfect dish  to prepare for lunch box and not consume much time.Here is the Recipe from Dhivis Pantry-Onion Paratha. Onion Paratha

Preparation Time:35 min | Serves: 3-4

Ingredients


Wheat flour | Atta - 2 cups

Salt as per taste

Water as required

Ghee | Butter|oil- 1 or 2 tbsp

Onions - 1 cup (finely chopped)

Garam masala- 1 tbsp

Red chili powder- 1 tbsp

Maida- few tbsp (for dusting)

Method:

  1. Make soft chapathi dough using atta,salt ,ghee& water).Always knead the dough for at least 5 mins and allow it to rest for minimum of 10 mins by covering it with cloth.
  2. Now chop onions very finely.You can also mix onion , spice powder,salt and make the stuffing.But i like doing the instant one which i gave here.

  4. Roll the chapathi dough and keep the chopped onions in the middle and sprinkle the spice powder(garam masala,red chili powder ,salt) on the top.
  5. Bring the edges together by folding it and join them in center.(like modak)
  6. Press the center by your palm towards down and sprinkle some flour on top.

  8. Roll gently and tearing may happen but its OK, as onion tends to leaves water when mixed with salt(usually i avoid salt) .
  9. Now place the paratha in hot tawa and sprinkle some oil & cook on both sides.
  10. Till Brown spots appear and the outer layer become crisp ,don't wry i will become soft when it come to room temperature .
  11. Paratha's are ready,serve with your favorite side dish.

Notes:

  • For stuffing-mix salt and onion together and keep aside for a while,so that onion leaves the water. After some time squeeze the onion with some cloth to remove all excess moisture. Now add in the spice powder,salt and mix well.Or you can follow the above method too.
  • Adding spice powder is up to you,you can replace with any spice powder of your choice like coriander powder,curry powder,tandoori masala,chat masala.. etc..
