Ayutha Pooja Special- Masala Sundal.This is my aunt's recipe.When we are kids,we use to go to ayutha pooja celeb at my uncle's shop.And my aunt use to prepare
this masala sundal which i like the most.Today i had a call with her in the morning and took the recipe frm her,it not came exactly like hers but tastes good.

Masala Sundal

Ingredients
Mooku Sudal/Chick Peas-1 cup
Onion-1
Curry Leaves- few
Ginger Garlic paste-1tsp(or fresh one)
Cinnamon-1
Cloves-1
Fennel/Sombu-1/2 tsp
Red chilli pwdr-1/2 tsp
Curry pwdr-1/2 tsp(op)
Turmeric a pinch
Grated Cocunut-2 tbsp
Mustard-1/4 tsp
Oil-2 tbsp
Onion-1
Curry Leaves- few
Ginger Garlic paste-1tsp(or fresh one)
Cinnamon-1
Cloves-1
Fennel/Sombu-1/2 tsp
Red chilli pwdr-1/2 tsp
Curry pwdr-1/2 tsp(op)
Turmeric a pinch
Grated Cocunut-2 tbsp
Mustard-1/4 tsp
Oil-2 tbsp
Method:
- Soak channa over night or refer notes for channa in 2 hours.
- Grind ginger,garlic,cinnamon,cloves,fennel into a nice paste(add little water if u want).
- Pressure cook the channa with salt for 2-3 whistles. .
- In a pan add oil then splutter mustard,now add onion and curry leaves cook till onion is transulent.
- Now add the ground paste and cook till raw smell goes..
- Now add redchilli pwdr & curry powder and give a quick fry of 20 secs and add cooked channa.
- Sprinkle some water if you want and cook for 1 -2 mins till done.
- Finally add the cocunut and give a quick stir and switch off the flame.
Notes:
- To get channa in 2 hours.In a hot box add the hot water ,channa and close it .after 1-2 hours ur channa is ready.
- Some people have powder of (cinnamon,cloves and fennel),if u have replace instead of grinding.
