Tawa Naan Recipe | Naan Bread

               


Tawa Naan Recipe

Ingredients


Flour - 2 1/2 Cup

Instant Yeast - 2 1/4 tsp

Curd - 1/2 Cup

Warm water - 3/4 Cup

Oil- 2 tbsp

Salt-1/2 tsp

Ghee or Butter to brush

Method:

    2 add
  1. In a wide bowl add the water,curd,oil,yeast,2 1/4 cup of flour(remaining flour for kneading) and salt together and mix well in a wooden spoon till it become a sticky dough.

  3. Now pour the remaining 1/4 cup flour on a work surface and add in the sticky dough to it.Knead the dough for about 3 - 5 mins till you get a nice smooth dough.

  5. Grease the same bowl with some oil and place the dough and cover it with a plastic wrap or damp cloth and set aside to rise for 1 hour.
  6. 2 add
  7. After 1 hour scrap the dough to the work surface and dont knead the dough now.Just dust some flour on the dough to avoid sticking in to your hands and divide them into 6 pieces.
  8. 2 add
  9. Now roll each pieces into a round shape(dont roll thin as you do for chapathi,it need to be thick).
  10. Heat the tawa or iron skillet on high heat and cook the naan for about 90 seconds on each side till you get brown spots(check out the naan pic's mine puffing up) .
  11. 2 add
  12. Brush some ghee or butter on the naan keep its soft for long.

Notes:

  • I used instant yeast | ragi yeast ,you can also use active yeast ,but remember to proof it before using.
