Drumstick Vendaya Puli Kulambu

        Sweet and Tangy Drumstick Pulikulambu.You cant serve this as a main gravy but ,if you want to prepare one gravy for rice on weekends lunch . This is a simple and easy if you have the instant sambar powder in handy.

    



Drumstick Vendaya Puli Kulambu

Ingredients


Drumstick-1

Curry Leaves-few

Redchilli-2(or more)

Urad dal-1 tsp

Fenugreek-1/4 tsp

Tamarind -small lemon size

Instant Sambar powder-2 tbsp or more

Salt as per taste

Oil -3 tsp

Instant Sambar powder


channa dal -1/2 tsp

fenugreek-1/4 tsp

urad dal-1/2 tsp

Toor dal-1 tbsp

Mustard-1/4 tsp

Pepper-1/2 tsp

Redchilli-4

Coriander-3 tsp

Cumin-2 tbsp

Curry leaves-few

Hing-1/4 tsp

Dry roast everthing and make a powder(these quantity for powder makes 3 times gravy for me)

Method:

    2 add
  1. In a kadai heat the oil ,add urad dal,fenugreek fry till golden then add redchilli followed by curry leaves.
  2. Now add the drumstick ,fry for 1 or 2 mins and add tamrind water,salt,jaggery, mix well and cover it and cook till drumstick cooked and the color will be pale.
  3. 2 add
  4. Now add  instant sambar pwdr mix well and cook for few more mins till the gravy is thick. .
  5. Now switch off and serve with hot rice ,dosa and idly .

Notes:

    • you can also add brinjal along with drumstick.
    • Increase or reduce the sambar powder as per the tamrind water .
