Banana Halwa | Vaalaipala Halwa
Banana Halwa | Vaalaipala Halwa

We all eat bananas often, but banana halwa is unusual right? When I tried this for first time I liked the smell around the house .And when you refrigerate and use, the texture will be almost similar as refrigerated Tirunelveli halwa, you won’t believe, this is very easy one and anyone who knows basic cooking can do it just like that. Try it out and surprise everyone ;).

Banana Halwa

Recipe Cuisine: Indian  |  Recipe Category: Sweets
Preparation Time:30 mins | Serves: 2

Ingredients

Fully ripped banana-4 (I took long yellow one)

Sugar-3/4 cup

Ghee-1/2 cup

Elachi powder-1/2 tbsp

Cashew-5 to 6

Method:

    2 add
  1. In a bowl add random cut bananas, ghee, sugar and smash it with a potato smasher or you can blend it in a mixer.
  2. In a nonstick pan add smashed puree and start cooking it for about 5 to 7 mins keep stirring occasionally.
  3. After some time the color changes as in the pic 1, now start stirring often.
  4. Now the puree is almost thickened as in the pic 2, add the elachi powder and reduce the flame to medium low to avoid burning.
  5. Halwa is almost done, add the fried cashews pieces and you can see the ghee start coming out as in pic 3.
  6. Your delicious halwa is ready taste it and send me your comments…

Notes:

    • You can reduce ghee and add sunflower oil instead.
    • Also you can add nuts of your choice.
